A 6.8km long grid and 160m to 1,2km wide connection corridor is being assessed for the placement of the power line route. The development of a 132kV overhead powerline is to connect one of the Harvard BESS facilities (Caraway, Pepper, Turmeric, Vanilla or Nutmeg) to the Harvard Eskom 275/132kV main transmission substation. The connection includes the loop-in loop-out to existing powerlines or the construction of a new powerline within the limits of the grid connection corridor. The grid connection corridor is approximately 8km west from the town of Bloemfontein and falls within the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality in the Free State Province (refer to the attached locality map).
