Project Experience

Solis Environmental provides national and international specialist expertise in the field of environmental assessment at project as well as strategic level. The member’s experience with EIA processes and the intricacies around process management stems from their involvement in practice as well as in research. The members of Solis Environmental have been involved in the environmental assessment applications for a range of different activities in respective provinces. The following summary demonstrates the specialist competence of the members of Solis Environmental:

      • Environmental management projects ranging from quality reviews, SEAs, biodiversity offsets, risk quantification, EMPRs and EMP and EIA handovers to name a few.
      • More than three hundred EIA and Basic Assessment (BA) projects in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (107/1998) and the National Environmental Management: Waste Act (59/2008) in the North West, Free State, Northern Cape, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Western Cape and Limpopo Provinces.
      • More than 10 registrations in terms of the BESS and Solar norm in the Free State and Gauteng Provinces.
      • Section 24G projects in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (107/1998) in the North West and Free State Provinces.
      • Environmental auditing reports for PV Solar Energy facilities in the Free State and North West Provinces.
      • EAP reports as part of the small projects Independent Power Producers (IPP) Procurement Programme (“RFP”)
      • EIA handovers for operational PV Solar Energy facilities in the North West and Free State Provinces.
      • Waste Registration in terms of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act (59/2008) in the Mpumalanga Province.
      • Numerous Part 1 and 2 amendments of environmental authorisations.
      • In addition to the above-mentioned projects the members of Solis Environmental have also been involved with pre-compliance reports and environmental feasibility studies.
